A Gentleman's Agreement

New Sparta and respective Nations, in an attempt to promote peace, prosperity and friendship, have reached agreement on the proceeding terms of non-aggression:

Article I

This treaty is only effective between New Sparta and each underwritten signatory. It is not commutative between the non-New Spartan signatories.

Article II

New Sparta and respective signatories remain sovereign and independent of each other, as do the member cities within each country, and are required to respect these sovereign rights.

Article III

New Sparta and respective signatories are obligated to refrain from any act of violence, any aggressive action, espionage and any attack on each other either individually or jointly with other third parties.

Article IV

Should New Sparta or any respective signatory be attacked by a third party, then the other Country may not lend its support to this third party, in any manner. Although it is also not required of the other Country to lend its support to the other Country’s war effort, they may do so completely voluntarily.

Article V

The Governments of New Sparta and respective signatories are required to maintain and promote continual contact with one another for the purpose of consultation and in order to exchange information on problems affecting their common interests. They are in no manner allowed to openly criticise each other on public forums.

Article VI

Should conflicts arise between signatory parties over issues of one kind or another, all parties are encouraged to first attempt to settle these conflicts exclusively through diplomatic exchange. However, any respective signatory may elect to revoke this treaty at any time; in such a circumstance, the other must be granted a ninety-six (96) hours Notice of Intent To Terminate.
