Background

The people of Cannabis have a long and proud history of growing marijuana. Originally, it was grown for it's uses as an industrial product, providing the citizens of Cannabis with their clothing, various cordage, and even paper. After learning more about the plant, it became known that there were certain, medicinal, qualities that this wonder weed provided. Not only was it discovered to have been a fairly potent pain reliever, it also has been proven to reduce interocular pressure in glaucoma sufferers. The inhabitants of Cannabis now use this natural substance in many other ways to support their way of life. Hemp seeds are highly nutritious, and contain beneficial omega fatty acids, amino acids, and minerals. (The fresh leaves can also be eaten in salads.) Products range from cereals to frozen waffles, hemp tofu to nut butters. Biofuels such as biodiesel and alcohol fuel can be made from the oils in hemp seeds and stalks, and the fermentation of the plant as a whole, respectively, but the energy from hemp is low compared with the volume of the harvested hemp. It does, however, produce more energy per acre per year than corn, sugar, flax, or any other crop currently grown for ethanol or biodiesel.

History

Founded on January 30th 2008, the city of Cannabis spent a short time unaligned until it's mayor, VictorLima, created the country of Euphoria about a week later. For the next month, the country's borders were closed while Vic worked to structure the new nation. After making the announcement in early March 2008 that Euphoria had opened it's borders to immigration, the city of Cannabis has been doing what ever it can to ensure the safety, education and financial well-being of it's members.
