Effect of Infrastructure

Infrastructure is the main component of the Population formula, which is:

Population = Infrastructure * 10 * modifiers

Infrastructure also requires maintenance, which is described below.

Infrastructure Costs

Infrastructure costs:

Cost = $1000 * modifiers

per point up until 1000 infrastructure, at which point it's cost is:

Cost = (InfrastructureCount) * 2 * modifiers

This continues until you reach 3000 infrastructure. At this point the cost is:

Cost = (InfrastructureCount) * 3 * modifiers

And once again when you reach 4000 infrastructure. At this point the cost is:

Cost = (InfrastructureCount) * 4 * modifiers

For example, without any modifiers, the cost of infrastructure around the 1000 infrastructure level.

  • 998 infra - +1 infra costs $1000
  • 999 infra - +1 infra costs $1000
  • 1000 infra - +1 infra costs $2000
  • 1001 infra - +1 infra costs $2002
  • 1002 infra - +1 infra costs $2004

. . .

  • 2998 infra - +1 infra costs $5996
  • 2999 infra - +1 infra costs $5998
  • 3000 infra - +1 infra costs $9000
  • 3001 infra - +1 infra costs $9003
  • 3002 infra - +1 infra costs $9006


Cost modifiers

One resource reduces the cost of infrastructure. [1]

So, if you have less than 1000 infrastructure, the cost formula is:

Cost = $1000 * (.9) Cost = $900

If you have more than 1000 infrastructure (say, 1500), the cost formula is:

Cost = $1500 * 2 * (.9) Cost = $3000 * (.9) Cost = $2700

If you have more than 3000 infrastructure (say, 3500), the cost formula is:

Cost = $3500 * 3 * (.9) Cost = $10500 * (.9) Cost = $9450

Military: Should your nation require more military in order to support it's population, the price of infrastructure is doubled from it's normal cost.

Infrastructure maintenance costs per day:

Maintenance = (InfrastrucureCount) ^ 2 / 100 * modifiers

For example, without any modifiers, the cost of maintenance per day on infrastructure around the 500 infrastructure level.

  • 500 infra = 500 ^ 2 / 100 = 250000 / 100 = $2500.00
  • 501 infra = 501 ^ 2 / 100 = 251001 / 100 = $2510.01
  • 502 infra = 502 ^ 2 / 100 = 252004 / 100 = $2520.04
  • 503 infra = 503 ^ 2 / 100 = 253009 / 100 = $2530.09
  • 504 infra = 504 ^ 2 / 100 = 254016 / 100 = $2540.16
  • 505 infra = 505 ^ 2 / 100 = 255025 / 100 = $2550.25

Maintenance modifiers

Two resources reduce the cost of infrastructure maintenance. [2]

These do not "stack". If you have one of them the modifier value is:

Modifier = (.9)

If you have two of them, the modifier value is:

Modifier = (.9) * (.9)
