Karatania as it is now

Karatania is a small, young nation that came out of the ashes of what was once Canada. Sitting on the border of Ontario and Quebec Karatania is searching for all survivors with the mission to gather as many as possible to reform some sort of civilized world in this post nuclear world.

Karatania's History in a nut shell

Karatania was formed by 4 small tribes that had realized the only way to survive was to form some sort of small nation with in the remains of the old. Thus the city of karatania was born, with needed supply’s gathered from all over and also from the debris of what was once large cities the 400 people set out to build a grand city and nation on its own. After its basic founding the population found its self growing as other smaller tribes and groups quickly moved to join this new Urban land as it was a safe place and a new life.

Military Service and Military Civilian Life

Since Karatania’s founding and when it became known that there were other Nations as its self out there, some being hostile the need for a Military or some sort of stronger defense was needed. As such every citizen was ordered to serve 2 years in the Military and remain as “volunteers or reserves” even in there Civilian life. As such the entire city alone is one massive army base with every man and woman being seen as back up forces.

Due to the Military Service however the need to recall those who had left after their time is often not needed and as such is very rare but once in a while some old units are called back for refresher training and a week’s worth of service. This insures if the need for Civilian personnel to be returned to combat status, then they do not forgot what they must do and how to do it thus insuring a up to speed garrison force.

Karat Technology’s

Karat Technology’s is the largest tech corporation in Karatania, it is responsible for all the Military advances and Civilian advances in both life saving measures, way of life and general home and base equipment and other such objects. Karat Tech was started by the government and employ’s thousands of people every month alone, it is seen as the nations number 1 supply of jobs aside from the Military.

Karat Tech also owns many of the Civilian and Military factory’s in the Industrial sector. They are built big so they can house a minimum 1000 workers alone and as such it is one reason why Karat Tech provides so many jobs, part in fact that the nation is young and as such there is massive amounts of space still available for urbanization and Industrialization. Karat Tech also being a massive corporation essentially have their hands and stocks in Oil production, mining and other smaller things like the Textile Industry or Metal Working.
