Tired of the heat, stench of sulfur, and (of course) the torture, the citizens of Dis left the Sixth Circle and made a new home in New_Dis sometime in the 7th century (some put the date around 666 CE).
New_Dis has been named "Best Country to Live In" three times by the UN World Heritage Committee and its downtown is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city has been run by since its foundation by its benevolent mayor, Lord Farquaad; a figure highly criticized for his heavy handedness but respected for his efficiency.
The Mediterranean climate and rich volcanic soil is well suited for agriculture. Not surprisingly, the major products that New_Dis offers are wheat and wine. These goods are traded with other cities under the flag of the East_India_Company.
