Guidelines
- The City Empires wiki history is to be unbiased.
- It is not to make judgments on what was or was not "wrong" or "unjust". No moral judgment.
- An addition to this is to not use weasel words. [1]
- The City Empires wiki history is owned by the community and so everything following this may be modified by community appeal to provide a better historical document.
- It is to document important notable global historical events, such as:
- Treaties(>NAP)/Wars/Mergers/Splits/Founding/Disbanding involving non-micro-nations.
- Micro-nation being defined as a nation that at the time had less than 20 cities.
- Summarized explanation of events leading up to wars.
- War follow up summaries through peace and related incidents.
- Treaty dissolution
- Out of game events which impacted notable nations or the game as a whole (DDOS attacks)
- Game updates which had some effect on other events described above.
- Details which are not covered above, but which help explain the above events
- Treaties(>NAP)/Wars/Mergers/Splits/Founding/Disbanding involving non-micro-nations.
- It is not to document non-notable events, such as:
- Run-of-the-mill government changes (exception are coups or the like)
- Intra-nation laws, charter changes, forum moves, irc moves.
- The creation of individual cities
- The actions of individual cities ingame or out of game, unless they directly precipitated wars described as notable (going rogue).
- The treaties/wars/mergers/splits/founding/disbanding of countries which never have a substantial impact on world politics, and were always micro-nations. Unless those events directly precipitated the events described as notable (small country wars small country protectorate of big country, ect.)
Suggestions
I listed a few of my ideas for guidelines up above, feel free to offer suggestions here so that we can improve this and keep it consistent and organized. Mason(T - C) 17:17, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- I added a ban on what is known as "weasel words", there is a guideline against it on wikipedia [2] and I think they shouldn't be put here. They breed confusion and bias. Read their intro on that page. I added that because if we want to say there was "criticism" we should state the critic and possibly provide a source for the claim. In most cases, if the critic was some run-of-the-mill mayor in some country I don't think it merit's inclusion, if it is a leader of a nation, then that should be stated as the stance of that nation and should more likely be added. "#:It is not to make judgments on what was or was not "wrong" or "unjust". No moral judgment. EVEN IF IT IS CAUSED BY RACISM!?" - User:68.118.123.38
- First, I don't see why we can't discuss without unnecessary caps. Second, stating that it was caused by racism is an opinion and a judgment. This is only to say why those who Declared War said they did so, what their causus belli was. It doesn't seek to state whether the claims are true or not, just how they rationalized it.
